A tisket, a tasket

My baby in some baskets:

I had Mim's laundry out in the living room last night, and I was blog stalking while she played with it (emptied out the basket) and when I turned around she was under it, giggling like crazy.  Don't mind the booger-y nose, she's had a cold.  The second picture is also a great one of her 6 teeth.  3 on top, 3 on the bottom.
Just a few minutes after I freed her from the laundry basket, she started a real effort to get into the magazine basket, and obviously succeeded.  Yep, those are my keys in her mouth.
Other cute things she's been up to:
She talks on her little play phone now.  Most of the time she has it pressed up pretty close to her ear when she does it, but other times it's on top of her head.
She tries to brush her hair.  Very cute.
She understands more and more.  She sometimes listens when we say no, and she responds to simple commands, like when we tell her to open the door, turn a page, and brush her hair.
Her attention span is getting longer all the time.  Just a few months ago, she would sit still for one book, maybe two.  But now I'll read her four or five and she'll still hand me another one.  She also likes to read books to me, but usually the books are upside down and I don't understand a word she says.
She's thinking more and more about walking.  She's gotten to where she'll toddle spontaneously between the couch and the lovesac, or from chair to chair.  Even earlier this week, she needed some serious motivation to leave whatever she was hanging onto.  She gets really proud of herself and excited when she does walk (probably because we still make a huge deal about it) and then she gets ahead of herself and falls.

Unrelated to Mim, Mike has everything set up to start his own business.  It's called Hard Drive Heroes; he recovers data (pictures, music, documents, whatever) from hard drives that have given up the ghost or that have been accidentally deleted.  If you know anybody in need of that kind of service, send them his way!  If he can't recover anything, there's no charge, either.  So tell your friends!

The rest of the family pictures

For those of you who requested more, here's the photographer's link to our family pictures we had taken a few months back.  Mike's friend from high school, Amber, was the... picture taker (I just used photographer in the last sentence- there aren't many synonyms for that).  Anyway, she did a great job, I will probably be enlisting her talents again to get some 1 year pictures taken of Mim (in a month!).

I made a new blog

It's for keeping track of crafty things I do.  Other reasons are outlined in said blog.  Here it is.  This is for all those who are reading about our family and do not care that I sew.  This blog will now just be for familial happenings, and by that I mean stuff Mim does.
